Second Writers' Platform-Building Crusade

Through the joy of social networking on Facebook, I've just heard about Rachael Harrie's Second Writers' Platform-Building Crusade, and I've joined up.

It's all about networking out there on the world wide web, and connecting to the collective masses of writers who blog. Rachael will collect the details of those who want in on the Crusade, and group them up. After that, it sounds pretty simple- hie thee out there and network with your group of fellow Crusaders, helping each other out by reading, commenting and recommending these blogs.

So, if you're a writer who blogs, and you want to connect with others and build your online platform, get over to Rachael's blog and check it out, here.

I think it's an awesome idea, and I'm looking forward to finding new people to share this journey with.

PS - I'm an Aussie as well! I love seeing other Aussies around the place (though Americans are nice too, of course) *chortles*

  6. Hey Heather, Rachael and Angela! Lovely to meet you too :) I'm already running behind on the Crusading and it hasn't even started, but I'll be round to check out blogs as soon as possible.

Rach, even though I didn't specifically see that you were Australian, I knew you must be from the fact you call yourself Rach :) Quintessentially Aussie thing to do, that! I hope you're nowhere near either flood or fire- I'm in Perth, but fortunately nowhere near the current flames.

  8. Hey Claire, back again! I'm intrigued, I didn't know that!!! Do only Aussies shorten it to Rach???

Nope, far away thank goodness - I just moved to Canberra from Sydney. Glad you're not near the fires, pretty awful!

    xx

  9. Hi Rach, and lovely to meet you!

I'm an Aussie, too; safely in Adelaide, away from the floods and fires and cyclones ... well, for the moment.

And on the topic of "Rach" ... funny, only certain people in my life call me "Rach", while others steadfastly stick to Rachel. Do you have that? And, do you find people often call you Rebecca? I get that A LOT, for whatever reason ...

Anyway, thanks for leading this crusade. Should be great fun!

  10. Hey Rachel, lovely to meet you too :) Oh, and what a beautiful name! *chortles*

Yeah, I get that a lot, even though I MUCH prefer Rach to Rachael! Don't get Rebecca much, but I get every variation of spelling you can imagine :O

It's great you're safe in Adelaide, all these weather events are pretty scary! The Brisbane floods really affected me - I used to live there and it's gut-wrenching watching all that devastation :(

No probs at all, am so glad I can help to connect so many different people :)

    Hugs,

    Rach

Just for information purposes, I have a friend, an American;) friend who goes by Rach rather than Rachel.
Fires?? Really? Goodness! Is it beginning to feel like the Apocalypse over there?!

  12. Naw, we 'Mericans use "Rach" too. We just don't sound as cool saying it is all. ;-)

  13. Hi Carrie and Amanda! Welcome! I'm trundling off to check out your blogs in a minute :) Thanks for visiting us.

Amanda, we just lost 70 houses on the west coast (where I live) over the weekend. They're saying it was partly because of the cyclone- a small fire was whipped into an inferno by high winds that came from Yasi's tail-end. Awful stuff.

Re the Rach question, Rach- it's used everywhere, I guess, but I don't know many Aussie Rachels who aren't called Rach from time to time :) Gosh, but what am I carrying on about? There's *two* of you here who know way more than me on the topic! :)
